Japan looks to anime and manga to save economy
Here’s a story from The Guardian about how Japan’s Prime Minister (a self-proclaimed manga addict) hopes to raise production of Japanese manga, films, video games and pop music to help stimulate the economy. This strategy is met with some skepticism: sales are down from the past decade due largely to the rise in popularity of free web comics.
